Model T Horn? 2 Attachment(s)
I'm usually reading the Model A forum but need some help identifying a horn I found in a box of parts my dad had. Can anyone tell me what it goes to?
Thanks |
Re: Model T Horn? Not T or A Ford. Could be much later too, mid 30’s into the 50’s as a wag...

Re: Model T Horn? There should be a name on it somewhere but you never know about aftermarket stuff. Ford used one similar to that in the early Bonus Built truck years 48 thru at least 50. F1 pickups came standard with that type but the one it had may have had a shorter amplifier bell.
Ford used Sparton horns but if it's a Delco, then it would be GM. A lot of horns had that style. |
Re: Model T Horn? It’s an Autolite 6 volt.

Re: Model T Horn? Chrysler, Studebaker, and Packard used Autolite equipment along with some others. Ford didn't get involved with part of Autolite till 1961 but they were forced to sell their interest in it by the early 70s to Bendix Corporation. The starter and generator part later became Prestolite. We used Prestolite starters and alternators on the aircraft for years and still use a version of the alternators but they are now made by Hartzell Engine Technologies.

Re: Model T Horn? Thank you, that is the kind of information I was looking for.
