Door striker plate screws on coupe

I want to replace the striker plate screws on a 30 coupe. My question is are the nuts on the screws captured? I don't want to find out the hard way.
All help is appreciated.

Re: Door striker plate screws on coupe

I did re-adjust the striker plate on my '29 this summer, the wear allowed the door to become slightly ajar. Usually a right turn or maybe a hard bump would do it. Probably replace mine this winter.. the nut plate is secure in the door frame construction on mine (a May '29 build). I just loosened the screws, adjusted the fit/closure, and tightened. So far no problems, good luck.! kb

I replaced those screws on my 30 Coupe, don't remember why. IIRC, a movable threaded plate is captive behind the jamb. Replace one at a time to keep the same adjustmemt.
