Cool Model A Ice Cream Truck

Check out this really nicely restored Ice Cream Truck. I know the guy who is selling it. He says he'll sell ice cream at car shows and make $200-$300 in ice cream sales, plus a trophy! haha.

Re: Cool Model A Ice Cream Truck

the truck has had several different owners

you will need a source of dry ice to make it work
for a recent charity event I did w/ my truck it cost 90.00 to ice down 150 ice creams

there is a guy in NY who builds these; prolly not an authentic truck FYI

I am a Good Humor collector and the design of the logo is not period correct, but rather a more modern version of the logo more from the fifties

Looks like a 29 to me... the seller doesn't even know what he has..

Engie Number shows the vehicle as a 1929 - Body shows it as a 1929

Don't be so sure the seller doesn't know exactly what he has........

One can ASK what ever they want. Getting it is another thing.

Forever4 (post #5) has it right:
"The 1930 style sheet metal was not introduced on commercials until June 1930, so it could rightfully be called a 1930 Model A, despite the 1929 style."

Also figure in an Engine #2776870 that was made on Jan 15, 1930 and it all fits.

So maybe it is not a red flag as Mitch suggested. The experts have garnered additinal knowledge. That poster may well have been wrong but the ones suggesting the price is outlandish are on the mark. Wayne

No, this is an original ice cream truck. He has the restoration photos to prove it. This is not a reproduction.

I saw that on display at French Lick. I talked to the owner about the truck and restoration. It's an interesting history and beautiful truck.

"Restorers" didn't know what they were doing?

Berkshire Industries owns the Good Humor trademark and may have been reluctant to give permission to use it. MACK trucks will sue at the drop of a hat over the use of a bulldog in advertising of automotive aftermarket parts.

Why not call him and find out, name and number is listed in the eBay description. very nice example of an original body by others A. I frequent the neighborhood at least once a month, one of his neighbors is a very good friend of mine.

Re: Cool Model A Ice Cream Truck

Nice truck:)

Was this the same one that was in a past issue of Model A News? I gave away a number of my issues to prospective Model A fans don't think I have that issue anymore, can't seem to find it.

I don't know how you would price a virtually one-off antique car like this.Kind of like Will Conkrite's drop floor Panel Delivery he was selling some time back.

If I owned it and was selling, I'd start high also.
