The Merc In Autumn

I like to get a few photos of the Merc every autumn, plus some video. I managed to get a few minutes together showing the scenery here while driving the Merc. Yes, some will notice I still haven't fixed that teapot carburetor :p

Ralph,
Thanks for another great video. I love that old barn. It's always neat to see the craftsmanship from the old days. Beautiful country. Is that a Go Pro camera you are using?

Thanks Doug. I never get tired of driving and making videos of the old Merc. The Gopro "white edition" has given me years of good service. With suction mount or clamp I can set it pretty much anywhere on the car to get some interesting angles. Like under the rear bumper to watch the leaf spring action. At last count I have 83 "Merc" videos on youtube.

Great video Ralph!!....Thanks!!....what was the green truck parked by the old barn?...we have barns and homesteads here in New England that are more than two hundred years old and still standing....before I take my last ride I’m gonna visit your part of this wonderful world we live in. I have a teapot carb, it looks in decent shape and clean. The plastic cover for the choke might be broken, I don’t know the year it’s from, it’s yours if you want it. Just PM me your address.....thanks for all the videos.........Mark

Thanks for that kind offer Mark. I do have a spare off the 53 (non running) Merc that I have plans to rebuild at some point when I get around to it. But if you are looking to get rid of that teapot I'd give it a good home. Mine was converted to manual choke back in the late sixties. I've adapted my driving style to compensate for the carb deficiencies but hopefully this winter project will be to repair it.
