What rear u-bolts do I need??

To use the stock CURVED rear spring in a 1933 model 40? I am having a bad time with conflicting information on this. Does anyone have a source or part number for the correct u-bolts and related parts? Thanks!

The correct U-bolts and the bars that retain the spring that are attached to the U-bolts will depend on the thickness of the spring which is mostly a function of the number of leaves which were different from one body type to another. So, what's your car's body type?

Originally, your Tudor sedan was equipped with a 12 leaf spring (40-5560-D) which was attached to the rear cross member with two upside-down U-bolts (B-5705-B, in Ford parlance of the period they were know as 'clips'). The dimensions were 2.88" inside the 'U' and 4 1/2" from the inside of the top of the 'U' to the end of the threads. If it is an early '33, 9/16-18 case-hardened castle nuts were used. Later '33s were equipped with case-hardened slotted hex nuts. The cotter pins used were 1/8" x 1".

The bars beneath the spring that the U-bolts attached to were B-5712-C, like the bottom one shown in the photo below, but with the added forged-in reinforcements underneath like the bar at the top of the photo.

Thank you! I am guessing that the taller rear bars would then work with a spring pack of lesser leaves, correct?

U bolt ,just going through this myself ,the longer Ubolt of 5" is likely a truck one for 13 leaves to use it on a smaller pack of say 11 4-1/4 a spacer of about 3/8 under the nut would be needed .A collar with a grub screw would do it .
