Holley carburetor with S.W. heater gas feed picture

HELP: I have an installation kit for a Southwind heater that I believe is designed for a Holley carburetor but I am not certain. I know it will not work on a Stromberg. I can't post pictures here so I can't show you what I have. Does anyone have a picture of a Holley with a Southwind heater set up? Also, I have a vacuum plate I know is for a Stromberg. Will it work with a Holley? Thanks, guys/gals.

Lawson. Attached are photos of the SW Heater fuel transfer device on a Holley 94. Its been a while since I did this but as I recall I used the directions that came with the heater and the only deviation was to dab on finger nail polish to seal the opening around the tube where it penetrates the carb.

Thanks expavr, and to Mike Dutkiewicz who sent me a PM with pictures. Both show the "traditional", for the lack of a better word, gas pickup that draws gas from the top of the float bowl. The kit I have provides a larger gas pick or feed tube that connects to the bottom of the float bowl and circles back up to the top where the small gas tube running to the heater carburetor attaches. When my Grandaughter comes by again I'll have her take a picture of a picture I have showing this setup, and then I'll email it to someone who has the skills to post it here. Perhaps that will help. I am just assuming the carb in this picture I have in this picture is a Holley. It sure isn't a Stromberg 97. Lawson

Just a thought, S.W. heaters were and are used in aircraft.
As I recall they were hard plumbed into the fuel supply/source and were not just a tube placed into a hole drilled in the top of the fuel bowl.

Yes, SW did provide a gas heater for aircraft, but they are a totally different animal. Thanks anyhow.

Somewhere I have a fixture that was attached to the bowl with use of a special jet plug for a 94. Will try to stumble onto it.

UPDATE: Yes, it is a Stromberg 97. I'll try to post photos or get them posted showing this pickup on a 97 to clear up matters in the minds of anyone who might be interested. BY THE WAY, does anyone have one of the "traditional" gas pickups for the SW heater? Thanks.

Lawson, do you have the installation sheets? I have some of the pages from one posted on the HAMB. Here are the ones on the carb setup. As I read it, there are two ways to set up the fuel connection. One is a through a hole drilled in the top of the float bowl. The second looks to me like it mounts on the carburetor and also directly into the fuel line from the fuel pump.

There may be one in my SW stash. I'll check tomorrow and PM you if I have one.

Thanks, Les. I too have quite a few NOC SW parts I need to get rid of.

That's like the one I have (had). I was not familiar with it either, but apparently, it works from what I've seen and read. Thanks for all the help guys. I've learned something from y'all, AGAIN.
