Early V8 Club What is the difference between Touring class and Touring A class categories.

Re: Early V8 Club That information is in your Club Directory.

Re: Early V8 Club Go to the Early Ford V8 Club of America website under heading "National Club Information" then select "Forms" then select "Judging Manual"
Very Simply put: "Touring" is as built by Ford, etc. "Touring A" is accessories, all is explained in manual. LouB. |

Re: Early V8 Club Both categories appear to be the same with exception of dropped axle. So is that the only difference?

Re: Early V8 Club As opposed to the Touring Class, Touring A may also have aftermarket heads and multi carb manifolds, tinted glass, modified dash & gauges, dropped axle, and any non-Ford accessories of the 32-53 era. Both classes are of course allowed all options that do not disqualify a car in any of the point judged classes, and all cars are also welcome to join the Display Class.
Note: It has been my experience that a strict distinction between Touring and Touring A is maintained, but, due in part to the plethora of all non-Ford Era accessories, a somewhat looser distinction between Touring A and Display has been tolerated at some Meets in the past. |
