3/8" ratchet bead roller Eastwood?

Does anyone remember the sheetmetal bead roller that was hand held and operated with a 3/8" ratchet?

Before the web, eastwood had small catalogs that were the size of the early rod and custom magazine.

I remember seeing this tool and im pretty sure it was Eastwood but it doesnt look like its made anymore. Closest thing i can find online is a seam closer for standing seam roofing.

Maybe im searching with the wrong search names?

Could always make your own similar to this homebrew tipping tool.

From the width, I'm thinking it is a roller skate wheel.

Picture's off the net. Was going to make one; but instead used a saw cut in a flat bar to tip the edge.

I like that homemade tool. I got a bead roller but I’m gonna steal that idea for one-off different ones........Mark

There may be a reason why Eastwood no longer has this particular item.

Just sayin'.

Pure speculation. Most companies do not discontinue successful products for no reason.

In any event, I'd think a 1/2" ratchet would be a better choice, given what it takes to form sheet metal.

What i have to do is close up a hemmed edge on a 8 ft long edge of 24 gauge so 2 rollers 1" wide will work even if i have to go over it a couple times. A hand held tool is easier then handling the sheet by myself and try and run it through a bench mounted bead roller. Using a air ratchet is my plan. I just remembered seeing the ratchet powered one years ago.

I think you have a good idea with the air ratchet..... I have an old one that turns slow..... which is good because I don’t move very fast anymore either!....... Mark

That is one very interesting original one-off tool?

Back in the 90's, there use to be hand held tool that greatly sped up putting a new door skin on car's door frame. It was called Skin Ease or Ez or something like that. I tried googling it, but nothing came up with those search words.

If it existed then, I'm sure someone improved upon it by now. 24 gauge is lighter than most 18-20 gauge panels, so it should work.

Guess its still in production, i was searching under the wrong description . Might be the same thing Eastwood once sold . I remember it as a bead roller instead of a seam closer but thats what i was looking for
