Re: Calif fires again Earlier this week as I sat glued to Los Angeles tv news stations cover the various fires out there not too far away from my tinder dry mountain residence, before we lost power up here for two days, I watched in dismay as one film crew panned around the ashes of someone's property and caught a glimpse of the burned out shell of a rare fifties studebaker station wagon. That one collector car and likely many others now toast. Fire crews at the scene of a home reduced to rubble did manage to save a '65 Ford Mustang convertible left in haste in the driveway. The only damage I could see was a charred rf fender. The reporter referred to it as a "Chevy mustang". God help us all.

Re: Calif fires again "Chevy mustang"....another fine example of fake news!!

Re: Calif fires again And they've had four earthquakes in San Diego area too.
We lived in SoCal for years, and it seemed each fall showed a pattern of Santa Ana winds and earthquakes. The experts said there was no correlation, but we didn't believe them. After the Northridge quake of 1994 that did so much damage, our company created a T-shirt: "Shake N Bake: First first the fires, then the quake." If we had waited a couple of months, we could have added the inevitable mudslides that follow in the scorched areas. |
