No idea what model '36 you have, but here's pictures of the short bows that mount over the doors in my '36 3W coupe. also have two full length, U-shaped bows that I don't have a picture right now, which mount towards the rear.

I would suggest the 35/36 ford car information book from the early Ford V8 club. The combination of wood and wire was used through 1936. It is helpful to mention the body type you have for better answers to your questions.

The car is a 1936 2 door sedan it has 2 bows in the rear the short side bows nothing down the center all i'm familer with is 37 38 39 that have complete bows so i think you glue or and staple the center starting in the middle working to both sides then go towards the back then to the front streching to the sides as you go finishing at the rear window then to the front at the tack strip. Thanks for the pictures any help appreciated I have never had a complete 36 to look at any advice taken Cubflyer

A completed head liner will have listings sewn in in all the places they need to be to hang in the car. If wire bows are used, the listings will be looped for the bow to fit inside of the loop. Where it attaches to wood, it will be tacked or stapled to the wood bow. What I don't know is which side they would be stapled to (front or rear). You will have to mark the headliner with chalk or equivalent fabric marker for the center of the cab location and then mark the cab for center location. Most folks start at the front and move to the rear but that is a general way to do it. Not every car is the same so I would ask a trimmer that has done one before on the best place to start. You want to have a decent alignment from one end to the other or it will end up being crooked. It helps if you mark the listings for center on each one and mark the bows for center as well. Any reference for alignment is better than none.
