Main Jet for Tillotson and Marvel Carburetors
 

I have repaired both of these carburetors. Most main jets and the ones that vendors sell have 3 holes on side of the jet. I have 2 jets with only 2 holes on the side.
Anyone have any ideas on the differences?

What about hole diameter to compensate for losing a hole?

I have some but haven't had time to dig them out and have a look. Plus when I'm out there I forget, rememberer isn't what it used to be.

I looked at some of the carburetor parts yesterday. The 5 Tillotson mains I have are all 3 [ actually 4] holes. I can't say I've ever seen a 2 holer, maybe they are early ones.

Thanks Patrick for your reply. I have 9 main jets with 3 holes and 2 with 2 holes. I wasn't counting the hole near the bottom in the turned down area just above the threaded portion. I only use the 3 hole style main jet. I agree with you the 2 hole jets are earlier ones. Thanks again.
