Adding air filter?

I see in catalog air filters, what I guess are for newer models, but did anybody try to add air filter to his T ?
Living in Las Vegas I don't care about intake air warming, but sand dust is the issue, so at this point I am trying to figure out if I can use the T for grocery getting, or just as a show car.

You can use a non restrictive filter but keep it clean, your car may run a slight bit more rich. You really need to get to know your car before adding any accessories beside a rearview mirror and pedal extensions. Maybe a gas gauge wouldn't hurt.

Btw, my aunt and uncle were Vegas pioneers. They moved there when the dam was being built. George Harris was a teacher and became Superintendant of schools, I think there is a school named for him. I used to go there often and saw an A bomb test once! My cousin Joel had one of the first sailboats on the lake.

Do a search of "mtfca air filter" there are lots of ideas out there, including using sink drain parts. :)

I run a lot of logging roads and I run an air filter on all my T's. After a 500 mile tour most of which is dirt you'd be amazed how much crap that filter catches.

What filter do you use Kelly?
Retiring from house remodeling left me with big bucket of drainage pipes, so looks like I have 1/2 of the system already

2 Attachment(s)
I'm using two types, one is the spring loaded foam unit and the other has a casting that allows use of a K&N element. The K&N unit came on my speedster so I don't know where you can find one. The other is from Lang's.

Re: Adding air filter?

I finally add an air filter that I found at local AutoZone and it seems to work fine, however after estimated 60 miles drive, the filter is clog and took me quite a while to figure out why my engine would start, make few turns and die.
I am ordering new replacement and below is the insert I am using but is it normal for the engine to mix the oil and dust to clog the filter in only 60 miles?
It is small filter, but replacing it every 50 miles is not going to be fun.
There is no visible dust on old filter, but it changed the color thanks to oil contamination.

Here is link to whole assemble, who combined with chromed parts from sink P-trap and some holding brackets make the new filter
