Wiring of transmission rear bearing retainer.

I am rebuilding the tranny for a friend of mine and we were wondering why the rear bearing retainer is wired for safety, especially when the bolts are also secured with lock washers. Is it really necessary?

How many of the barners actually do wire the retainer bolts when doing a tranny rebuild? Why isn't the front bearing retainer wired?

Is it necessary probably not, but I do it for the points

I wire everything as it was originally wired. Only takes a minute to do so, except those hidden rear motor mount bolt heads. They are tough to thread the wire through.
