Bright metal cleaner

Hello all,

what is the best material out there that would freshen up the bright metal work on the Model A?

Re: Bright metal cleaner

I use Simichrome polish on the stainless steel parts: radiator cover, headlights, tail lights, etc on '30-'31 cars. On chrome parts I use any top quality auto polish. For years more then I care to remember I've done it this way on my antique cars and Harley's. Unfortunately, in the past, on my Harley's. I have rubbed the chrome off in places by polishing to much!
You won't have to worry about that using simichrome on stainless steel.

Give a look at Nevr-Dull, you can get this in a can from Advance Auto Parts. That is what I have used on my Chrome and works great

Thanks Oldbluoval, I am a believer of American made products first, I'll have to give this product a try.

A buffing wheel works wonders & your arm won't get tired.

I’ve been using Simichrome for 50+ years, great stuff. Tried several others over the years but keep coming back to Simichrome.

Re: Bright metal cleaner

Try Red Rouge applied with a cloth buffing wheel chucked in an electric drill. Red Rouge does a nice job of shining stainless, chrome and nickle.

Way back when I was an electroplater, we would recommend Mr. Sheen furniture polish for chrome.
