Re: Posting pics? Thanks, but HOLY COW!!
|
Re: Posting pics? Not sure what the holy cow is, it is fairly simple to post photos, just takes some explaining if you don't understand it. A couple of clicks and it's posted. Basically select a photo, upload it in the popup window and then post it.

Re: Posting pics? .
As JSeery says above, it really is a lot simpler to post pictures (once you get used to it) than the written procedures make it sound like. It usually takes me roughly 4-5 seconds to post a picture. I don't even have to think about it any more....it just HAPPENS! DD https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/image...ine=1614652617 |

Nice car! I like Folkstone Grey on the '40. Maroon complements it well.
I put lots of miles on this one over 20 years. |
Re: Posting pics? petehoovie's trick is to use the image URL (right click a picture and copy link) then use bracket IMG bracket, paste the link then bracket /IMG bracket and any linked internet picture can be full size on our message boards.

Your convert looks very nice, I like the color combo on it... One bad thing about them is the cowl mirrors, you can't see behind you very good, especially out the right cowl mirror. Hinge mirrors are better. I put the cowl mirrors on each of my doors, where the vent windows will still open. Below is a picture of each mirror, look in them and you can see behind. Good visibility. I've thought about a door mount for passenger side. Can you post a picture of the outside of the door please? Glenn |
Re: Posting pics? Glenn,
I have always been afraid of opening up a can of worms once you start removing door hinge pins. There's got to be a better way. A tiny unobtrusive "wireless" rear view camera would be wonderful. |
Re: Posting pics? Hi 19Fordy,
I have a set of the pin mounted mirrors but took them off a long time ago. I didn't really care for them and am not about to remove the hinge pin after my latest paint job on the 40. Lanny has mounted the cowl mount type to the doors. Glenn |

Hi Glenn, I sold my '40 convert a short while ago, so I can't take any current pics of the pass door, but I do have a pic of my drivers door that shows where I placed the mirrors, to make sure the vent still opened. I also had a remote rear camera, but when on a 4 lane road, that didn't show cars in the lane next to me, so that's why I moved my cowl mirrors onto my doors, and added the stick-on convex mirror lens to my mirrors. It gave me a lot of piece of mind, when driving that car then. ;);) PS: I could even see motor cycles then, too. Click on pic to Enlarge... |
Re: Posting pics? Thanks Lanny!
I can see your mounting well now and may give it a go. I don't mind when I have the top down, which is most of the summertime but in Fall with top up I have to ask my passenger wife to check for me. I had one passenger's vent window from that had two sheared off screws, high up on the frame where I figured that a peep mirror had been installed at one time. The peep mirrors are too small though and except for drilling into the door, your solution looks great. Thanks, Glenn |
