Rear door glass mech on 46 woody This thing is driving me crazy! Trying to nstall glass in rear doors on 46 woody. When I roll up completely a roller slides out from one channel, roll down and roller slides out of other channel. I tried installing with mech arms for window rolled completely up AND tried installing with mech arms in down position. Tried moving metal channel on glass
to one side an inch,no help. Is there a procedure for this rather than guessing and using trial and error? The parts are all the correct pieces that came from this car, windows worked 20 yrs ago when disassembled. The instructions may be same for turor or coupe?Any help would be appreciated, thank you! |
Re: Rear door glass mech on 46 woody Check the regulators to see if they have stops on them. Some windows do not roll all the way down and there are stops on the gears or arms that keep them from rolling all the way down. Perhaps that is the case for your car and the stops are removed? Are you using the original channel from the car or a repo channel?

Re: Rear door glass mech on 46 woody Original stuff. Your right, windows do not roll completly down on rear but the one side comes off when rolling all way down. Going to shift channel 1 more time on glass tomorrow to see if that gets it. Thanks!
