Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction There is a good original Model B Five Window Coupe up for auction next weekend in Redwood City CA. I hope somebody that will preserve it buys it and keeps it out of hot rodders hands. Jim in San Jose

Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction Oh no looks like one of them dreaded hotrodders has already touched this coupe. 16 inch wire wheels, beauty rings, a red grill insert and that horn under the hood.

Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction Oh the humanity, those damn hot rodder's had the audacity to paint it green. Someone please save it from... US!

I have a small issue with some terms like "original" and "restored" being tossed around so freely. We've all seen the ads "fully restored" only to read more and find out it's 12v, "updated" to hydraulic brakes, etc. |
Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction Probably been in California most of it's life. The black and gold plates were standard issue in 1963. Looks like a nice rust free '32.It's one ugly color combination. Be interesting to see what it sells for in the auction.

Sad to say, but you might be right. |
Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction I understand it sold for $22k. I don't know if that includes any fees or buyers premiums. Jim in San Jose

Re: Original 1932 Standard Coupe up for auction My first car was a $50 B standard coupe like this one back in 1955 and I've had three more of them since. I'm with Robert; I like them just as they were built.

In my opinion, chopping the top makes very few cars more attractive; it seems most are done "because I can". |
