8ba vs 59ab length

I know there have been numerous threads on this topic, here is my question:

Is a 59ab from transmission mounting surface to water pump mounting surface the same length as an 8ba with the bellhousing bolted up- Transmission mounting surface to water pump mounting surface?

As long as you are using the narrow and not the full bellhousing on the 8BA.
