Looking for a vender that I can purchase just the bows from.
I did a search with no luck.

So no one listed on the "Sticky" at the top of the forum page will sell just the bows? Alternatively, they are easy to fabricate unless you don't have an old one to replicate from.

what type wood would I use to make them?

I used red oak when I made mine but a hard wood, not typical construction lumber. I think Ford used a lot of ash which are dying/dead around here.
