59AB spark plug choice

Autolite 216 or Champion D21? What’s everyone’s best choice? Thanks!

I like autolite plugs, mostly because champion does not make a 18mm plug with a screw top for us early motor dudes. Lot of guys are using 14mm NGK plugs and like them also.

Umm, never saw a 59A with 18mm plugs.

Autolite or NGK. Heat range for heat range, the NGK's run slightly cooler. Forget Champion!!!

When I first got my '39 p/u with an 8ba I used Champion H-10's as called for in my Motors Manual. Never had any issues but always chuckled that ones I bought at the parts store came individually packaged and labeled as lawn mower plugs. Down the road I installed the Autolite 216's that I'm currently running. I can honestly say I don't really see any noticeable difference between the two. I think plug brand like oil types are a personal decision. JMO

I’ve one or two plugs out of different sets of Autolite 216’s where the electrode pulled right out of the plug. I switched to Champs H10 but I am going with NGK from advice on this Forum next time…….. Mark

I use Champion RJ14YC in my '47. They have a long snout that reduces the common oil fouling of the H-10s. I know that Champions have gotten a poor reputation, but I changed to the RJs 25 years ago, and they have been fine.

I prefer autolite because they have rolled not cut threads.
Best for aluminum heads.
