"Diamond engine" Took my '29 CCPU to Sam at Arizona Model A yesterday. Sam took a look at it and informed me that it has a "Diamond" engine, which, even though I've been messing with these since the early '60's I'd never heard of. When I got home I did some research and discovered a code of K107 on the engine side. That means that it was built on 1 November 1937! Wow. It also has a stamp from a rebuilder (no longer in business) from Utah. Then his Dad straightened out a slightly bent right front frame horn using a high-lift jack a tool that I don't have. Took 5 minutes! No charge! I'm a happy camper.
When I bought the truck the engine was stuck but I took a risk. Got it freed up after laying a smoke screen in the neighborhood from Marvel Mystery Oil and Kroil, and now it runs great except the Tillotson carb still leaks. Thanks Sam and Dad! Ned |
Re: "Diamond engine" Sounds like you had a great day, congratulations, and a tip of the hat to Sam and Dad.
