Trico Vacuum Wiper I have a 29 tudor that has a Trico vacuum wiper motor on it. From what all I have searched and read it is not original. It is a mirror image of a Trico TR-C2A. Mounts only off of the Shaft with no brackets. Binds up so the windshield won't open. Does it matter what position they mount? Any idea what it really fits?

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper A picture would help. It may be for slant windshield. The shaft would be about 2 1/2 long.

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper 1 Attachment(s)
Picture attached. Yes the shaft is 2 7/8" long.

This is what I found for the slant windshield

Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Looks like you found it.
Just in case you haven't seen it, this is a wealth of wiper info. https://www.mafca.com/downloads/Semi...A%20Wipers.pdf |

I have read all of that. If you look close, the one I have has the switch and vacuum connection opposite. |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Will it work mounted upside down?
|
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper I think 29’s all had electric wipers didn’t they? Unless it is a really late model.

You sure it's not a TR-C3? |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Quote:
The Tudors got vacuum wipers starting in June/July 1929. Everything else, though, was electric. |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Quote:
No, they look different |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Quote:
Yup, I got the illustrations mixed up in my head, oops :o |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper What you have is a vacuum wiper for a Chevrolet.
If you have a later '29 tudor the vacuum wiper motor is installed on the outside See Bob's picture below |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper 1 Attachment(s)
I think this is the wiper you need.
|
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper I don't know if I have a late or early 29. The engine number is April 1930.

This picture that Marco posted may help you determine what wiper your car originally had. |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Quote:
Yes, I have seen that. Mine measures 12 3/4". I did figure out a way to make the vacuum motor work and still open the windshield. All I had to do was use a longer spacer on the shaft so the motor would clear the edge of the header when the windshield swings out. Then made a cover plate to cover up the unused holes in the windshield frame. Motor is mounted on the inside. Maybe it isn't correct but it looks good and works. |
Re: Trico Vacuum Wiper Quote:
Would you happen to know what the mounting hole center to center measurement is on this motor? |
