Re: The Brass Works I agree, the new one I bought last winter for my ‘23 was beautifully made, fits just right, keeps Elizabeth cool and will certainly outlast me.

Re: The Brass Works A new radiator is one of the smartest investments you can make for these 90+ year old cars. I figure if you are going to spend thousands in a rebuilt engine, you should invest in a good radiator to protect it and make the whole powerplant perform like it did originally. I got a round tube high top radiator for my 26 Coupe back in 1980 from Cornelius Berg for $400, and it still does it's thing perfectly. Looks great too. I got a radiator from his son a couple years ago for my Model A, and it too was one of the smartest things I did.

Re: The Brass Works 3 Attachment(s)
This hobby is very fortunate we have Berg's and the Brass Works as available radiator options.
I went with the Brass Works as they had made a custom flat tube with a 12V fan for my 39 P/U. Got the hoses on and filled with 50/50, had a small weep @ the upper hose and a little red RTV has currently stopped it. The Mothers mag polish has been the best for cleaning and polishing the shell, probably will take a week as my fingers cramp up after an hour:eek: |
Re: The Brass Works 1 Attachment(s)
Today I installed a new Brass Works flat tube brass radiator on the 1915 Rajo Speedster.
This is probably the 25th radiator I have bought from the Brass Works in the last 35+ years. I started buying them from Greg Goveia (spelling?) when he started the business and was selling his radiators at the California swap meets. I think the first brass radiator I bought from Greg cost about 400.00. Today, at about 1,400.00 they are still a high quality, work of art and a bargain when you consider what goes into producing one. If you are going to drive your car, a new radiator it is an essential purchase. |
