How does oil get into the valve chamber to lubricate valves and lifters on the 8BA ?

It's just a combination of oil mist and oil thrown by the rotating crankshaft and rods. Later engines have drilled squirt holes in the rods to supply a bit more to the cam lobes and piston skirts but there's no direct pressure oiling to the tappets or valve chamber.

Oh, Its not raining but its misty out, so you need ya wipers, and ya face gets wet: So
thats how it works with all makes , valve in block engines for a 100 yrs.

Now's the time to put bronze liners/Stainless valves in and never have a "hung" valve anymore?

You'll need no "additives" either anywhere?

P.S. Bronze-line all 16 guides, install (8) Viton intake stem seals, and "never look back".

Is there any advantage to sending you a set of valve guides to modify vs out-right purchase?

Hi "J", that's what we prefer to do to keep the costs down, use 16 old guides IF you have any?

You can fit 16 used guides in one USPS small flat-rate box, runs about 7.00/8.00
shipped to our P.O. Box.

P.S. It never made sense to me to need to buy 16 new guides and the line them? In the case where there are no old ones available that leaves a limited option. We actually found most used guides are fine for this procedure!

To give you an idea of how well the oil splash-mist is in the flathead. For well over 20 years now the roller lifters moving the push rods for the ARDUN rockers in my 59A block have shown no wear at all. That's running the engine around town and thousands of highway miles. Like big job wrote that's how the valve train has worked in engine's for 100 years and counting.

Another thing you have to realize is the intake valve stem is under Hi Vacuum, but the exhaust is under pressure, and need kubrication or they seze.
