Re: heads

EAB is supposed to be the highest compression stock head.

Re: heads

EAB are a slight improvement over the 8BA but they are close. The 8CM ones have chambers that are a fair amount larger so they are more like 8RT truck heads.

Re: heads

Don't use the 8cm heads unless you are running a 4" crank. I'm running EAB heads on the 8ba in my '39 p/u and I'm happy with them FWIW.

52 and 53 b2and 3 heads have the higest compression, 7.2, the ret have 6.8, 52 53 merc heads run 7.2. , 1cm heads 6.8

Re: heads

Now if your going to use a hi lift cam like the L-100, the head will have to be clearanced . Also, regardless of the head you use the piston to head clearance should be .045/.050" to increase the turbulence in the chamber. This will improve throttle response and economy.. Just remember there's a reason why you do things and some of the choices have an affect on other things. There's a differance between building an engine and putting one together.

thank You Ol' Ron I will take your advice to heart . I do have a l-100 cam and a merc crank with .030 over pistons.
