Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" 8 Attachment(s)
Greetings Everyone. I thought you might enjoy a little diversion.
Today I saw a video on the Ghost Town Living channel and grabbed some screen shots. Do you want to play ‘what is it/where is it?’ I don't have the answers. https://youtu.be/qCMStV3xB44 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...5&d=1617496538 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...6&d=1617496538 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...4&d=1617497395 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...7&d=1617496538 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...8&d=1617496538 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1617496538 This is from a different vehicle carcass even further up the slope/wash/canyon... https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...0&d=1617496538 |
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" I'm going to guess either the CA Sierras or maybe NV up Elko way but that is just a SWAG.
|
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" So the where wasn't really a good question, centered around Cerro Gordo CA as I get the drift.
The proper question should have been what was it used for? Not a 35/36 and that's where I have to stop. |
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" Sawmill is likely.
|
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" Not lumber country, mining territory.
What dash is that? |
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" It's a compressor, Kinda makeshift.
|
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" first one looks like mopar artillery wheels and flat 6. air compressor on the back
|
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" Quote:
So on the dry side of the Sierras near the Nevada state line. Most likely a silver mine. Owens lake used to be an actual lake before LA diverted all the water. Paddle wheel boats were used to transport silver from the mines on the east side of the lake to the rail head on the west side of Owens Lake - now dry thanks to LA. |
Re: Rusty Crusty - Fun with "Where and what is it?" Around here it was common practice to use a car engine to run a compressor for mining. Buick straight eights were probably the most popular.
