I'm going to guess either the CA Sierras or maybe NV up Elko way but that is just a SWAG.

So the where wasn't really a good question, centered around Cerro Gordo CA as I get the drift.

The proper question should have been what was it used for? Not a 35/36 and that's where I have to stop.

first one looks like mopar artillery wheels and flat 6. air compressor on the back

So on the dry side of the Sierras near the Nevada state line. Most likely a silver mine. Owens lake used to be an actual lake before LA diverted all the water. Paddle wheel boats were used to transport silver from the mines on the east side of the lake to the rail head on the west side of Owens Lake - now dry thanks to LA.

Around here it was common practice to use a car engine to run a compressor for mining. Buick straight eights were probably the most popular.
