Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe Lotsa variables . Lots to look for .
Good luck and sorry I couldnt help with a price . |
Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe You would need to be more specific on how many windows does it have. The five window coupe is a nice car, but the three window coupes seem to command higher prices. Is this an original car or one that has been modified?

Not really that difficult to learn. There is also a test page here where you can practice. Do a search for previous posts on how to post pictures here. There have been many. We need to see pictures to help you. |
Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe Lenmissy,
When you click on “post reply”. Look in the top part of the dash board/tool bar for the black paper clip, click that paper clip and the upload box will appear, there are about 6 “browse” lines to up load pictures!!! Be careful of file size as large files will not upload. If you want to email them to me I will post them for you but I can’t do it till Monday. [email protected] |

Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe Len,
You'd be in dangerous territory at $28,000. It probably took all of $38,000 to build the car but the brutal fact is....that's not where the market is. Charlie ny |
Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe My reasoning for buying a car:
The actual cost is the difference between what you buy it for and what you sell it for. Let's say you bought the coupe for $30000 and drove it for 5 years. Then you get tired of it and sell it for $30000. It didn't really cost you anything. It was free. If the prices go up in 5 years and you sell it for $40000, you just made ten grand. Garage logic. |
Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe Oops.

1936 3 windows are far more desirable. Look here to get a feel for the "asking" market. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...&o=relevance&c[node]=7 |

On the other hand, if you think these cars will appreciate in the next five years, I have some really good deals available to you. Not as much fun as owning an old car, but a guy can invest $30k and if done properly will have considerably more than $40k in five years. |
Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe I see a lot of 5 windows at the 20-25k range. Three windows in nice shape are unobtanium............ think 55-65k.

Re: looking at a restored 36 ford coupe A old saying is a car is only worth as much as someone will pay. I'm surprised all the responses to an arbitrary post with no info. You can buy a nice original 36 for 38K. So the next question is what are you going to do to it! :)
