1951 Rear Quater chrome tail light spears
 

it is very difficult to obtain parts from europe I am looking for chrome parts such as tail light spears and side trim.
I am also curious whether I can better and cheaper order a complete interior for the 1951 Convertible in America.

I planed a shipment from Texas to Netherland in oktober!

Hope you can help and advice me.

I don’t think taillight spears are reproduced. They are on eBay once in awhile. As far as an interior “kit” you would have to go with Macs/Ecklers. I don’t think it would look like the one in your picture. You could try a “Wanted” add in the Swap section on here for the spears. That’s going to be a very pretty car when your done !! Yes I hope so! Unfortunately, for support and experience, I have to search in America which makes it difficult. so good adressen are ferry welkom!
We have adressen here for upholstered benches and convertible top exc. too but they probably buy it also in America.
and because of my transportation with decor material from Texas, we can take this right away.
I also need new exhaust pipe maybe you know a good address here too.

Shoebox Central might be able to steer you in the right direction for your questions. Are you looking for a concourse correct interior or just redoing the seats and top. I should think you can quality shop close to you that can provide the services and material to get your job done. It may be a bit more expensive than a kit but when you factor in the duty, shipping and everything else going on that may make international shipping difficult it may be cheaper.

"Shoebox Central" has a rechromed set ("much better than driver quality") listed for $250. If I were you, I'd grab'em. They were the hardest part to find back in 1987 when I did my car; I can't imagine what it would be like today.

Do you need the whole exhaust system? Are you going stock or duals? I’m not sure how much of the stock systems are available. The previous question of are you looking to go restoration or just have a safe running vehicle is a good one?.....let us know your intent and everyone can help you more.......Mark

I have some of the spears you could have for free, but they need replating which would be very expensive as they aren't very nice. Stay on Chris at Shoebox. He really knows these 49/51 Fords.

In 2005 I paid 3000 for a top to my 49. It would have been about 500 cheaper to have him install a LeBaron top but I wanted something to exactly fit the car. I just put that here because it gives you some reference for what you might expect to pay.

From what I can see, those look pretty good. When I was looking for them in 1987, a lot of them were "tweaked" (bent). It must have happened when they were removed, by persons not concerned with preserving them. Those look straight to me, and if plating is an option, I think that would be the way to go.

The above maybe your best option on the spears. To buy and ship them would be expensive for sure. Do you have shops that bend exhaust pipes there?...I had my duals bent by a local shop here, but don’t know if that’s an option for you......Mark
