Bill Hirsch gas tank etch

Have used th Bill Hirsch kit according to instructions on a very nice looking fuel tank with little dirt inside. After using the degreaser i flushed several times with clean water and dried the tank. It then appeared clean with the exeption of rust. Next, the etch seems to have removed the rust. Hovever there is now a fine layer of beige-colored silt at the bottom of the tank. Is this normal ? How do i clean it ? Do i have to repeat the processstarting again with the degreaserand then the etch over again ?

Re: Bill Hirsch gas tank etch

Nothing to be sorry about Gerard, I had already factored in flushing the tank again.

It's just that among all the threads on this site that discuss tank cleaning and sealing, I have NEVER heard of anyone seing silt forming after the etch process. Could it be residue salts formed from rust converted by the etch ?

I am not sure if I should redo the degrease step as the silt residue definately looks non-organic. I am thinking just flushing i out with large quantities of hot water ?
