Original 1931 Coupes and Roadsters with trunk compartment... If there is anyone or someone that knows of anyone who has a an original (unrestored) 1931 Coupe or Roadster with a trunk, we need to confirm the SHAPE of the Deck Door Lock Striker Plate.
There seem to be two styles (maybe more) one style has a symetrical appearence (the most common one seen) and the other has a non-symetrical appearence (not sure if this one is original to the Model A Ford, a later Ford issue or reproduction). With that were the original 1931 striker plates symetrical or were they non-symetrical in appearence? Thank you. Pluck |
Re: Original 1931 Coupes and Roadsters with trunk compartment... I have a '30 original with trunk lid - will a check of that one qualify or do you have to see a '31?

You bet it helps...Thank you. If you could, could you please send it to me at [email protected]? Anyone else out there with 1931 Trunk compartments later than may 1931? Thanks. Pluck |
Re: Original 1931 Coupes and Roadsters with trunk compartment... Not to hijack the thread, but since Pluck and I are working on the same project, I would also ask that if someone has and original 29 striker, a photo would answer a lot of questions.

here are the two types that we have found so far
we need owners of original trunk cars to respond so that Pluck can finish up the article tom |
Re: Original 1931 Coupes and Roadsters with trunk compartment... This is a pic that Jim Sinclair posted of his original '28 Roadster. It is clearly the symmetrical type. Rusty also posted a pic of another original '28 Roadster and it was the same.
