Top Bows

Does anyone make top bows for 1941 Ford Coupe? I have only the front bow.
I had a wanted post in the swap area, but that UK guy was a scammer. He said he had like new bows and fender grills, but never could furnish any pics. Said his computer didn't send pictures.
Thanks, Lee

Re: Top Bows

Oak Bows in Pennsylvania is where I purchase bows for our 1935 Convertible sedan, for our 1939 convertible coupe, and also for our 1947 Ford Sportsman. They should have them for your Ford too. Good fit and excellent workmanship.

I also used Oak Bows on the last 5 converts I did, I recommend them to anyone who asks.

The first post said he had a coupe. Perhaps he need the metal bows for the headliner? A little confusing

Re: Top Bows

Hello Everyone, I tried a google and found this. Not sure if it's correct.

Oak Bows
122 Ramsey Ave
Chambersburg, PA17201-1293
(717) 264-2602

We just redid the top on our Phaeton and had two copies of the rearmost bow made that just didn't fit, so the shop that put the top on (http://www.alprueittandsons.com) reworked the original 77 year old bow by using, I think, West Marine products, and it came out beautifully. So if you still have the wood there may be a chance it can be refurbished.

Now our header, above the windshield, was already a replacement item and it was crap to begin with 35 years ago when it was probably put on, so it had to go. Our supplier for the header above the windshield was the guy in Washington State. That was a very very nicely made piece. That's the only supplier I've actually used and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to them in the future.

That's my contribution...

Hi Jeff, what is the guy in Washington State's contact info, if you don't mind; I'd like to talk to him about our '47. I used some wood filler product on the header and rear bows on our '39 LZ and they came out nice. A friend of mine, who did woodworking as a hobby, actually made the header bow for our ’39 CS. I also polyurethane all bows. Unfortunately, the header bow on the ’47 “ain’t no good, no mo!"

Re: Top Bows

Yes, the coupe has metal top bows. Maybe I should have written Headliner Top Bows. Not found any resources for them as of yet.
Thanks, Lee

Re: Top Bows

I used a place called "Wood Art", and I think they used to advertise in the V8 Times. They made the roof bows for my 35 Sedan, and when I went looking for the windshield header and rear wood bow for my 35 Convertible Sedan, I also found Oak Bows, in Chambersburg, PA. It took a while to hook up with Rick, the owner, but he was worth the wait. Turned out to be quite the car guy himself, and he had a superb collection of unusual cars right there in his shop. I believe he travels back and forth between PA, and California, and isn't always in PA to return calls, etc.
He made both of the wood pieces for the 35 Convert, and also made the sheet metal overlay for the windshield header.
