Headlight Sockets Who sells the headlight socket shown in the picture below. Note that the Headlight bulb socket has a black finish. Also note that the contacts for the bulb are flat and brass without and solder "bumps".

Re: Headlight Sockets are these rebuilt originals?

Re: Headlight Sockets No they are reproductions.

Re: Headlight Sockets no pictures showing if it is my eyes then I will return my buck rogers eyeglasses

Re: Headlight Sockets The black finish would have to be conductive - it's in the bulb grounding path. I can't guess its purpose. Maybe a dark metal plate?
The flat contacts mean crimped connection instead of solder. A soldered connection can be repaired more easily. |
Re: Headlight Sockets Do not know who makes them, but is curious the socket pin contacts appear to be correctly sized, not like most repops where the contacts are too large diameter and are prone to shorting.

Re: Headlight Sockets Maybe A&L??

Re: Headlight Sockets Black finish on steel is likely a phosphate treatment. It would still be conductive but more resistant to corrosion than some treatments. Zinc or cadmium plate are generally more common but also more expensive.
