Water pump ?

How can I tell if a rebuilt water pump has grease-less bearings/bushings in the front and/or rear.

See if it will take a few shots of grease.

The front bearing with the fan off you can see the seal on the ball bearing. The rear is more difficult, the pump needs to be pulled, you can see the Rupert machined bearing and seal holder.

But would pumping grease into a grease-less water pump harm it?

It won't take any if it is greaseless. just use a hand pump grease gun.

If the passage is blocked, it won't accept grease. I don't know it the passage is blocked or not. I'd have to see one apart to be certain. I still use the OEM style.

If a passage that should be open is blocked it was a poor rebuild.
