Changing Brakes

I am in the process of changing out my brakes from mechanical to hydraulic.

The mechanical were rusted and had some missing/broken pieces.

My question is, should I post the mechanical parts for sale/free? Think anyone would want it?

Thanks!

Re: Changing Brakes

You probably should hang onto your mechanical brake parts, -because if not you, then the next owner will likely need them when they change the hydraulic brakes back to mechanicals. Hydraulic brakes are not superior IMHO.

Re: Changing Brakes

I would tell you to change your system. The reason I say that is simple.

The more Model A’s that are modified. The higher the value of purely stock Model A’s.

There only original once. If restored or maintained properly, a Model A will drive and handle very well. The secret is “PROPERLY”.

Please, everyone, add speed parts, change your brakes and modify your suspension, go to 16 inch tires, put on tube shocks, how about a four speed transmission? Think of all the ways that you could dress up your 90 year old car.

Brent, in my humble opinion, is correct. Original brakes work fine and have for over 90 years.

Enjoy.
