What year is this shock? 3 Attachment(s)
Last weekend I was looking through a shed out at my Grandparent's farmyard, since it's being sold and I found an old Ford shock. It has a different cover than my Model A shocks and is taller when laying flat. The arm that was on it looks the same. Any idea what year it's from? If not for the wear on the square of the shaft it would be a good one - not seized and no rust inside.

Re: What year is this shock? It looks to me that the LH shock is taller because because the cover is not screwed down far enough. It looks like the original CAS shocks that were used on CDN A,s from 29-31.The 28 CDN A,s used the Hassler friction shock. For someone building a CDN show car, they would want them.

Re: What year is this shock? Very rare here with the recessed cover, but I would say either 31 or early 32, at a guess.

Re: What year is this shock? The '32-'34 shocks were taller and gave stiffer action but had the same bolt pattern as the A. These work great on the A with hydraulic brakes, the stock brake rods will hit these shocks.
