Solid brass 1933-34 Ford column drop 2 Attachment(s)
Hello guys!
I’ve stumbled across a 1933-34 Ford column drop for my 33 roadster. The thing is that its made of solid brass instead of cast iron. Its identical in every way compared to my other 4 33-34 column drops besides the material itself. It looks too good to be any kind of reproduction. The guy i bought it from claimed it is a early 1933 production part. Does anyone know and can tell more? |
Re: Solid brass 1933-34 Ford column drop The seller may be right as I have one made of brass from a very early '32. In addition, it was nickel plated before being painted black.

Re: Solid brass 1933-34 Ford column drop I bought my first 40 Ford in the mid 1980s from the second owner in need of total restoration. It was an early Std Fordor sedan . It too had a brass column drop. Didn't know any better at the time , I thought they were all like that. Wish I had kept it.

Re: Solid brass 1933-34 Ford column drop Ok cool, ive heard of a very early ’40 coupe that had a brass column drop too.
Maybe the very first of the different column drops were made in brass? Any pics of the 32 drop? |

I saw the rare 1933-34 Ford column drop . I was curious if
these parts were made for the 1970 Timmis Ford Roadsters . I found a similar one at the Santa Rosa Swap Meet last year . It needs some cosmetic work , but it will fit fine on my 33 4dr . Here is an old pic of the Timmis parts from 1970 . R.O. |
Re: Solid brass 1933-34 Ford column drop I had a late 31 that was all brass, not sure how rare that is?
