Re: U Joint

I just finished putting my spare motor/trans in my car and I packed the u-joint/clam shell the best I could before bolting it together, then I used the grease gun to complete the job.
When the grease started coming out the speedo gear housing on the drive shaft tube I was happy. I'm not sure if that is the correct way but I know my u-joint is packed full of grease. I used JD Corn Head Grease

This is the way I would recommend doing it.

Enjoy.

Re: U Joint

Might change out the grease fitting with a modern Zerk type to simplify pumping in grease with a gun. The fitting just threads in and is an easy change.

Attach the u-joint to the transmission, then pack it with grease before installing the u-joint housings.
