36 wiring routing

Hi all,

I recently picked up a 36 phaeton in the final stages of assembly after a frame off restoration. The PO passed away before finishing. I'm a long time hot rod guy but this one's pretty much stock (added juice brakes and replaced the missing flathead with a 38 model).

Can anyone give me some details on proper routing for the original style wiring harness? Particularly the rear harness and crossover and the front headlight crossover wires? The ignition system is wired and as is the dash. The rear section is pulled down the drivers frame rail. Everything else is just kind of coiled in the engine bay.

Where does the rear crossover run?

Is there a separate crossover harness for the PS headlight and horn or is it part of that coil?

Also can someone post up a pic of how the assembly at the end of the column looks assembled. I think on have the parts but I'm not sure.

Thanks
How how/where des that harness get to the

The front headlite and horn crossover passes OVER the bottom radiator hos outlets from radiator. Originally there are two little clips soldered on at the seam to the bottom radiator tank that the crossover clips into.
The rear crossover is clipped to the rearmost crossmember behind the gas tank [14586 clips in diagram]

I have some photos of model A light switch assembles if that would help. They are all about the same.

Thanks. I have those diagrams some help but not totally what I need.

@brian. That was a good part of what I needed. Where do the wires go through the frame into the rear wheel wells. And through the inner fenders or frame for the headlights?

I figured out what's missing on the headlight after looking through MAC's website.

Thanks again!

Here's some images that might help. The front crossover wiring has been discussed, so most of my focus is on the tail lamp wiring and routing. Hope this helps.

The head light wire goes thru a hole in the forward part of the inner fender panel. I'm showing a 35 vehicle, but it is similar in 36.

Re: 36 wiring routing

For '36, the headlight wire goes through a hole in the stand that the headlight rests on.

Re: 36 wiring routing

I didn't grab a pic but the 36 inner fender doesn't have that hole. It's funny I've messed with tons of 35 and 6's and never noticed that. There 8s, however, a hole in the fender brace I'm gambling is where it goes. Drops it right out where it should be. Thanks everyone
