v8 ford foundation

Hello v8ers,
I am donating a Model B engine to the V8 Ford Foundation. I have assembled the
engine and about to have it delivered to Indiana to be displayed. As i reported earlier I did
receive a fuel pump donation, but I have just been informed that I do not have the correct
intake manifold, fan,and spark plugs. If you happen to have one or more of these items i would be grateful.

Thanks,
Walter Welton

Just a quick back story, I belong to the Early Ford V8 Club of New England and many of the parts were donated by fellow club members. Thanks

Contact some of the people that rebuild the fuel pumps. They might have enough unusable parts that they could put one together for a display cheap (maybe Ken Isidor - [email protected]).

Well the engine has a few issues before I can send it to Indiana. I was informed that the intake manifold, the fan and the spark plugs are not correct. If anyone has these items please let me know so I can get it finished. I will purchase them if necessary. THANKS!!

Doesn't Pat McFarland have some experience with spark plugs? He did a lecture in Dearborn on them.

You might want to post pictures and get second opinions. There were early (on left) and late manifolds (on right), what is the approximate date of your engine? The fan is the same as the 2 blade, late '31, Model A fan.

Re: v8 ford foundation

My goal is to donate a model b engine. I would be happy with any model b intake.
Thanks
Walt

The only time there would be a problem with "any" manifold would be if you had an early block with the rectangular boss on the left side it should have an early manifold.

Re: v8 ford foundation

Im beginning to learn that there is more to building a model b engine then I was aware.
I have realized that I should use this as a learning experience and will try to do what is necessary to build a correct engine. I have been informed that most of what i have assembled is 1932 and will proceed to acquire more 32 parts to complete the engine.
Thanks for every ones help on this endeavor!!

Thanks for donating to the V-8 Foundation. It's a legacy that all of us should support.
