Brake Info Needed 4 Attachment(s)
It is my first time taking 1930 A brakes off. First of all, Henry could have put a little more meat on the backing plat bolts. Struggle to get them off as they spin. Anyone put a slot in the head? Changed to a bolt with a larger or different shape head?
Can anyone tell me anything after looking at these pictures? There seems to be plenty of thickness, but surface seem vary glazed over. Any comments appreciated as I am new to this. |
Re: Brake Info Needed Did you bend a wrench to get inside there, so you can get fully on the flats? Model A’s need special tools you know. Might as well start collecting.

Re: Brake Info Needed I was able to hold the bolts with a normal ring spanner and use a ratchet spanner on the nuts.
Mind you, I also tried it the other way at first, but after sliding off before moving anything I figured I'd just ruin the bolts. |
Re: Brake Info Needed What do the drums look like?? What problem(s) are you having with the brakes??
You could try scuffing the brake shoe surface with rough sandpaper. Paul in CT |
