The "Jack for Jill" in the 1920s

have you guys ever seen ads for a car jack that operated via a chain loop that extended past the front of the car and operated by pulling on the chain, thus avoiding the mess and danger of a traditional jack?

The ads usually portrayed a smiling father in a suit watching his child safely and easily using the tool.

Kinda hard for me to believe the tool was such a breeze...has anyine ever seen one? It was advertised extensively for years.

I’ll look that up, I’ve never heard of one of these. Once it connects and has load on it it would probably be easy for a child to run the chain, before carrying a load it might be a nightmare.

I'll bet that is it. The original ads gave no detail of the unit itself, mainly a drawing of a proud father wearing a suit, tie, overcoat, hat, etc. watching with a proud smile as his young daughter pulled on the chain. I saw the ads in library-bound copies of Popular Science from that era, I was mainly enjoying "The Model Garage" feature Popular Science carried for a long time.
