Weber cams
 

I have a Weber cam Marked 4X has .944 base circle and .415 lift. Don't have any info on this cam in my files. Was hoping Pete or someone might have more info. Thanks

I didn't think Weber had that much lift in a cam. Will have to stick in in a block and degree it in.

Are you sure it's a "4"? Weber had a radius lifter cam grind called the 7X that was around that lift. Unlike Isky, Weber used a 1" radius lifter vs. Isky's 2".

I ran a Weber F6 in my very first stroker flathead . . . sounded good, didn't really make much HP. I swapped it out for an original Potvin 425 - now we were talking buddy - THAT is a good cam! LOL

The cam is marked WEB, With x4 on top. It's an old cam for the front drive dist,& a bit rustry. I measures the lift.

I have a Weber F-1 cam in my 59AB engine.. Wanted a a Howard M-8, for some unknown reason the builder of the engine talked me into the F-1 which reputedly is a 'constant acceleration cam'. A little lumpy, not to much overlap, good for street use.
Some place I have the tag that came with the cam that lists the lift/duration, etc.

I've got a Weber F7RS that has a .89 base circle and .415 lift. 274 duration with 108 deg centerline. Spherical radius lifters.

WOW!! radius lifters?? This cam doesn't look like any that would need that type of lifter. Gota take a pic of the lobe and let Pete look at it./

Here's a pic of various lifters. Some of the radius ones had the keys in the block, some on the lifter. Some were adjustable and heavy.

Got a Weber F4 cam here - contemplating whether or not to use it in a 3 5/16 x 4 1/8" 59A build in the works.

Well I have to get off this idea of using it. The engine I'm uilding has experimental intake ports. Most of the design works along with the fixtures are finished. Sounds complicated, but considering my eyesight and financial situation, I have to live with it. however, If the engine would make great power with an unknown cam. so, considering the advice I'm getting from some of the people helping me, I'll use the 400 jr. A known cam and still available to anyone. I just got carried away with this cam. I want to thank those that offered more information

There have been a few guys who've run the F4. I'll try to find their info. From what I gather, they liked it. In the ball park of the L100 or 1007B, but has more duration and a little more radical from what I gather.

I have the Weber F4 cam in a 265 incher in a highboy roadster, it works well in this car. 282 duration and 340 lift. i don't think i would like it in a heavy car.

Nice - I was thinking of using it in a cut down Deuce roadster. How does she sound 34fivewindow ?
