I think that a picture (s) of stolen truck/trailer would also help , in this situation. |
Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque I agree, we need open season on thieves. Seems to be a lot of stolen trailers and antique cars lately.

Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque Truck has been recovered
Trailer & T still missing Jim |
Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque Hi all- just an update- the truck was recovered when two dirtbags attempted to burglarize a house using Don's truck and that's how the truck was recovered- but no info on the trailer or car yet. Seems the coppers booked the bad guys on the truck theft and the attempted burglary and then cut them loose with out trying to get info on the trailer and car- gotta love a system where the bad guys have rights but. . .
For a picture of the car and trailer logo you can go over to the MTFCA thread on the forum there. http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages...tml?1467840240 thanks all- keep looking for us please. |
Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque I'm sort of laughing at the posted photo. Ir reminds me of when I had to take my wife to the local Sheriff's office in Wichita Falls, Tx. to get her fingerprints made for her Oklahoma nursing license for when we moved. The earlier times in our nation as to justice were much, much different than today, I suspect.
I was killing time in the hallway and just looking about all the plaques and newspaper clippings posted on the walls there. They had one posting that told the story of various old time sheriffs in Texas who had been killed by bandits. I believe it was in the early 20-30's when a local sherif was killed as he rode out looking for a horse thief and was ambushed in a field pasture. The other officers went out afterwards and located the fellow and then dragged him naked through the city streets behind their horses. There they hung him without a trial and did a whole lot of other things to his corpse. Texas justice was swift and resolute back then. I wish i could have copied the news article. I don't recall the name of the sheriff. Unlike the staged photo posted here, that was a reality of those times. Hope you have luck in recovery of your property. |
Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque GPS Trackers/locators are reasonably priced and readily available for anyone looking to make things somewhat more easily resolved and also to somewhat add a little peace of mind.

Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque I received an e-mail from the N.W. Speedster group advising us trailer owners to paint the license number in large letters on the top of our trailers so they can be spotted from the air. I think this is a good idea.

Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque It's a SMART thing, to MEMORIZE your license plate numbers!

Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque This is another case of vintage ford being stolen while on (or in) a trailer. I doubt the thieves would have any idea how to start or drive a model T or model A for that matter!

Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque It's also prudent to not advertise on the side of the trailer of what could be inside.. Incognito is better

Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque I just got this update from a friend in Albuquerque:-
The Model T speedster stolen in Albuquerque has been recovered and is awaiting its trip home to California. It was spotted by swap meet vendor Bruce Hartman early this morning as he was driving on Bobby Foster Rd. He notified the Albuquerque Police and Bernalillo County Sheriff. The car is now safe and undamaged. The trailer is still missing. It is great how the car community responded and watched for the car. Thank you to all who kept a lookout. Good show, troops! Joyce I got a call from the police department about 7:30 this morning that the speedster was located. I was on the call list to pick up the car and/or trailer to avoid impounding charges. I hooked up my trailer and drove south of Albuquerque on I-25. The car was abandoned in an arroyo east of the Interstate just south of Rio Bravo and I-25. The officer took my identification and gave me the keys which were left with the car. It was in deep sand and hard to get my trailer lined up so I tried to start it. It started up just fine, oil pressure OK. I should have just drove it to a good spot to line the trailer but decided to turn it around and drive on the trailer. As luck would have it it died crossways in the sand and the battery did not have enough juice to turn it over. Since it has no crank I had to tow it a bit to line up with the trailer. Anyway, got it on the trailer and back to my house by 10 AM. There is no visible damage to the car. Don and Nancy Housman are really happy. Kirk |
Re: Stolen Car/ Trailer Alert-Albuquerque I hope they find the thieves and hang them by their ball bearings.
