49 woodie rod radiator

3 Attachment(s)
Got the radiator moved forward 2-3 inches, enough to have an 18 inch mechanical fan on the Mustang 302 instead of a 16 inch electric fan. Fabbed a fan shroud and fan is 1inch from radiator and shroud hole is 20 inches for the 18 inch fan. It's cool today, 74F vs the normal 95F but idled the engine 15 minutes and never got the 160F thermostat to open. Will take thermostat out and run some radiator flush next step. Has got FITech GO EFI on it. Timing not set by EFI. Learned a very hard lesson on hot rods. Buy one from somebody who knows what they are doing. Had to fix just about everything that was rodded. Not expensive but time consuming and mentally challenging.

How should I set the timing deg at what RPM?

Has an MSD distributor with vacuum advance.

Tex - might want to post on the HAMB or on a Mustang forum.
Spent an hour or so with FI Tech at SEMA last year, and they are the best IMO. Would suggest you work with them on this as well. Vac looks good too.
Put some cardboard over the radiator to decrease cooling efficiency to increase temp.
