Distributor Cap Alignment Tab Missing

I just disassembled my distributor for cleaning, lube, and new points. When I put the cap on, there seemed to be nothing to prevent it from turning slightly once the bale was installed. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the distributor body has a notch aligned with the vac brake. This notch is supposed to have a piece of metal that fits into the notch in the cap and makes the cap fit in one position only. That tiny piece of metal is missing. Is this common? Is there a replacement? Am I going to have to fabricate (gerry-rig)?

Looks like about 3/16" square key stock. (start fabricating)

Not sure if this helps or not but here is a pic of mine. Third Gen may have but for what it's worth might be easier to just find some scrap stock and make one.

Careful , not just key stock.....there is an integral 3/16 diameter on the back of that

key. I'm sure Michael has NOS keys...if not I have some used....for the cost of shipping.
