Shifter

What will the shifter from a 39 Ford , work on, I have a 3 speed truck top loader trans from the seventies, will it work with this trans? Thanks

No. Shifter levers from 1936-39 cars AND 1936-52 toploader pickup trucks (light duty trans) will all operate the top load 3 speed trans from those years.

The heavy duty 3 speed (1948-55 of the T-87 variety) uses a different lever. Any of the later (post 1952) light duty 3 speed topload transmission shifter levers also will not work with the 36-52 types mentioned above.
