I was impressed with this tool box on a sport coupe at the Hellertown, Pa show last Saturday. You usually see them as a plain square box.

Mike's A fordable in GA was the vendor that had them made, you might check there. www.mikes-aforable.com 888-879-6453

Re: Neat tool box.

Does anybody know where these can be purchased? Mike's doesn't list them on their website. Can somebody post more pictures or comments?

They are shown in Mike's Catalog, Vol 17 "Commercial" Page Chassis-31. Part # T1000 (28-29) or T1005 (30-31) $165. I think these were even featured on their Wacky Friday Specials a while back. Couldn't find them in their on-line catalog

Re: Neat tool box.

Smith and Johns has them listed. Part # A-18080 for 28/29 (with picture) Part # A-18085 for 30/31 (no picture) It says they are hand made. That may be why they are hard to find. Bigger demand than supply?.

Re: Neat tool box.

I was the original designer of that tool box about 15 years ago and made about 200 or so of them which Mike sold through his catalog. I still have a couple left for future personal projects, but don't know if or who is manufacturing the current copies. I strongly recommend Mike for his quality and conscientious Model A business.

It's my car in the picture. I think I bought mine through Mike's a number of years back. They were just getting the ones that could be use with the stone guard on the radiator. I can't find one on any of the online catalogs.

The yellow bottle is a gallon of antifreeze and the black, a quart of oil.

Re: Neat tool box.

It looks like you can not hand start the engine with the box mounted.
Is it a hard mount or can it easily be removed if hand cranking is needed?

Re: Neat tool box.

I wonder if one would fit my 32 B? Very cool device

Re: Neat tool box.

The box is a hard mount. The engine can not be started with the crank. With 7:1 compression, I don't think I would like to try it anyhow!
