Old door seal removal On my '38 car, the door hinge seals have turned into a gooey tar-like mess sticking to the door. Part of the seal has hardened, too. What to use to remove the mess without damaging the paint? I've tried lacquer thinner and it doesn't seem to stay on the vertical surface long enough to help.

Re: Old door seal removal 3M has some really good products. I've used this stuff very successfully in the past. They also have similar in spray cans. Good paint supply stores should stock it, or Amazon. DD
