Spindle bushing installation tip

Installed NOS spindle bushings tonight on a set of spindles I am restoring. First one I got in about half way with a homemade tool of all-thread, washers, and a few nuts. Had to use my press on the rest, but got it in ok without any damage to the bushing. On the top one, same thing, except I could not get a stable base to use the press. I found that the manzel distributor bushing tool worked great. One of the sleeves on the tool fit right into the bushing and the shoulder kept from mangling the bushing during the press. Thought I would share.

The "Mighty Manzel" comes to the rescue. Great! Thanks for posting.
Is this the tool?

This is what I used, had it sitting out on the bench.

Most all the kingpin reamers I have bought over the past 50 some years have included a bushing driver; slightly less in OD than the the spindle bore with a stepped shoulder slightly smaller than the bushing ID.

Drives the old bushings out easily and drives the new ones in smoothly.

Usually drive the bottom bushing from the inside out and the top one from the outside in; easier to start the bushings square against a machined surface.
