Bratton`s parts catalog has a lot of the torque specifications in the front pages.

Re: Bolt Torque ft.lbs. information

There are no original factory torque specifications for the Model "A" because Model "A" production predated the use of the torque wrench. What many use today are torque values from a chart published by the SAE for various bolt sizes and thread pitches.

Torque values are used to set the fastener in tension, insuring the fastener is providing maximum clamping force to the assembly.

Torque values are determined through testing for accurate results, the steel design of the fastener makes the torque value unique.

Generic torque values, such as the ones Bob cites that are used on Model A engines, are not necessarily accurate.

I received this complimentary pen with my recent order from Mike's "A" Ford-able Parts along with a thank you note. I thought it was cool. You pull the metal tab and the page scrolls out of the pen.
